Bike & Pedestrian Safety

More than 1,000 bicyclists and 2,200 pedestrians are involved in police-reported crashes with motor vehicles in our state each year.  On average, 30 bicyclists and 150-200 pedestrians are killed.  An additional 500 bicyclists and 310 pedestrians are seriously injured.  Guilford County has the 3rd highest number of bicycle/motor vehicle crashes and pedestrian crashes in NC. Only Mecklenburg and Wake counties have more.
